St Sennen

Rector

Reverend Canon Vanda Perrett

Vanda is the Rector of the Land's End Benefice which, alongside St Sennen, also includes the churches of St Levan and St Buryan.

Vanda was installed as Priest in Charge by The Bishop of Truro, the Right Reverend Tim Thornton, at a service in St Buryan Church in September 2014, and then made Rector in November 2016.

"I am married to Bob and we live at the Rectory in St Buryan with our 2 dogs, Dylan and Jazz. Bob and I have four children, three daughters and a son all in their twenties. We also have 2 grandsons. Prior to ordination I was a riding instructor, play group leader and lay prison chaplain among other jobs. I was ordained in 1998 and have worked in rural church settings at each of the posts I have held. People often comment about the Vicar of Dibley when they meet me; my response is that I am the real one! In my previous post I was Team Rector to six parishes and also Rural Dean, Dean of Women's Ministry in Salisbury and a non Residentiary Canon of Salisbury Cathedral. Bob has recently stopped full-time work as a proof reader and now does this on a part-time basis. He ia also an author and enjoys playing loud music in his car - but with the windows shut! Prior to taking this post we had holidayed in Sennen for six years; we love the communities, walking the coastal paths and enjoying the sea too! We are thrilled to now be living and ministering here with you all."
